Open dated bookings are valid until the advertised final flight of the summer season in which the ticket was purchased. Booking ConditionsBookings made by telephone incur a non-refundable $10 service fee per person, per one-way fare. Changes to bookings must be made by telephone but no telephone service fees will be charged for making changes. Bookings made via Internet on www.capitalair.co.nz incur no service fees. Special Conditions Wellington-Takaka Scheduled ServiceCapital Air operates under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) for the Wellington-Takaka service. When weather conditions do not meet the required legal minimum for VFR flight, or when Capital Air is unable to commence or continue flight or carry any contracted passenger, it will endeavour to assist with alternative carriage. If alternative carriage is not possible, the passenger may re-book with Capital Air on a later flight at no extra charge, or receive a full refund. Baggage Limit 15kgFor each passenger a total free baggage allowance of 15kg is permitted on all scheduled flights, including any carry-on baggage. Excess baggage will be charged at $3 per kg and should be booked by phone in advance or it may not be carried on the flight. For comfort and security reasons, all baggage will be stored in designated baggage areas. Carry-on baggage is only permitted at the discretion of the Pilot in Command. Capital Air and its appointed agents accept no liability for damages consequential upon the loss, delay or damage of goods or baggage. The carrier accepts no responsibility for fragile or perishable articles carried in baggage. Pickups and Dropoffs in TakakaPassenger pickups and dropoffs within 10km of Takaka Aerodrome may be booked with Capital Air up to 2 hours prior to departure of the flight for a fee of $10 per person. Capital Air may pick up and drop off people from distances greater than 10km by prior arrangement but additional charges will apply. Pickup/dropoff timetables are as follows:
Passengers must ensure that they have provided Capital Air with a clear, easy to find address for pick-up and dropoff. ChildrenChildren less than two years of age may travel free if seated on an adult's lap. Children less than two years of age who travel free are not allocated a baggage allowance. However, any baggage may be combined with the accompanying adult allowances so long as this does not exceed 15kg. Additional infants and children aged between 2-11 inclusive pay the child fare. Capital Air may request proof of age of people travelling on child fares. Unaccompanied ChildrenChildren may be carried unaccompanied by prior arrangement with Capital Air Bookings. Additional fees and conditions may apply if Capital Air is required to use alternate transport operators for any reason. AnimalsSmall animals may be carried, by prior arrangement with Capital Air, in appropriate airline-approved pet carriers. For pets accompanied by a paying passenger, the fare is $50 per pet carrier and for unaccompanied pets the fee is $100. Additional fees and conditions may apply if Capital Air is required to use alternate transport operators for any reason. Passengers with Wheelchair Requirements or Special NeedsPassengers with wheelchair requirements or special needs must discuss their individual needs with Capital Air at the time the booking is made. Some passengers may be required to travel with a companion. TimetablesThe carrier undertakes to use its best efforts to carry passengers and baggage with reasonable dispatch. Schedules are subject to change without notice and the company assumes no responsibility for making connections. The carrier may without notice, cancel the flight, substitute alternative carriers or aircraft or alter or omit the stopping places shown on the face of the ticket. Passengers must bear their own expenses arising from any cause due to over carriage and/or delay, whether of passengers or baggage. Restricted ArticlesNo hazardous substances may be carried on any Capital Air flight. This includes flammable substances such as camping fuel and flammable sprays, explosives such as fireworks, poisons and toxic substances, radioactive materials, highly magnetised materials, oxidising agents. Capital Air can provide camping fuels at Takaka Aerodrome by prior arrangement. Firearms and ammunition may only be carried as checked baggage for hunting and sporting purposes, in which case they must be packed in accordance with applicable laws, CAA rules and Capital Air Policy. Passengers intending to carry these items must notify Capital Air prior to flight.
